Tools such as Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are now widely used in important areas like managing water resources, planning smart cities, improving transportation systems, and studying the impacts of climate change. These technologies make it possible to collect, analyze, and visualize data in ways that were not possible before, leading to smarter and more sustainable decisions in engineering projects. However, even with this progress, there is still a noticeable
gap when it comes to the participation of women students and professionals in using advanced geospatial tools. Many women remain underrepresented in this growing area of technology, which limits their opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge solutions in civil engineering.
